TreadRight Foundation

Founded in 2008 as a joint initiative between Insight and each member of The Travel Corporation family of brands, the TreadRight Foundation encourages the sustainable development of tourism by supporting projects that benefit the environment, cultural heritages and local communities. TreadRight’s past project partners include WWF, Conservation International and The National Trust in the UK.

By providing grants to organizations that encourage sustainability in different destinations, we hope to maintain the natural attractions across the world that define each unique region. To date, TreadRight has helped support more than 35 sustainable tourism projects worldwide.

As part of its continuing dedication to supporting destinations worldwide, the TreadRight Foundation, with support from Insight Vacations, launched The TreadRight Heritage Initiative.

In 2015, TreadRight welcomed Céline as its official ambassador, helping to tell the stories of its projects and partners.

Some of our Past Projects include

In cooperation with TreadRight, Insight Vacations has also supported Glasgow University's Centre for Battlefield Archaeology (CBA). This partnership paved the way for the CBA to study significant WWI sites in France and to investigate the hidden history of Scotland’s Cambuskenneth Abbey. This research has provided valuable information for both locals and visitors.

We have also helped to support sustainable food initiatives through our work with Whitmuir Organic Farm in Scotland, an integral contributor to the region’s developing local food economy. Whitmuir Farm works to educate and engage the public in sustainable agricultural programs such as community growing plots, citizen science projects and local food events.
